The Race

Theo, the squirrel, unknowingly embarks on another philosophical adventure as he finds his daily routine interrupted by a race. The race turns out to be more than a dash to get to the finish line. Coyote befriends Theo and tries to make Theo believe that some animals are superior to other animals. Theo disagrees with Coyote’s belief and tries to figure out a way to convince his new friend that all animals are created equal. Many animals run the race with Theo and he sees their unique qualities and importance in life. Theo finds that he is running the race fast and is driven by a desire deep within, a desire to open Coyote’s eyes and let him know the truth. The defiant Coyote’s ears are closed to anything that Theo has to say. In the end, Theo stands firm in his belief that all are equal, but sadly is aware that not all creatures accept this truth.
